Tirumalai Devasthanam Tirupati/Tirumalai Devasthanam
Tirumalai Devasthanam Tirumala The Venkateshvara temple's management committee
is officially known as the Venkateshvara Temple Management Committee.
It is located near the town of Tirupati in the state of
Andhra Pradesh.
This temple is the wealthiest in India, thanks to the widespread
belief that any desire uttered in the presence of the god would inevitably come
true.
Previously, the priests in charge of the temple took all of
the temple receipts, but since Indian independence in 1947, the temple
committee has been in charge of them.
The committee has distributed these funds to hundreds of
charities, with a focus on education and temple construction: the former in
schools from elementary to university level, and the latter in providing funds
to assist in the construction of many of the larger Hindu temples in the United
States and Europe.
