Hinduism - What Is Sopashraya?

Sopashraya is a word that translates as "making use of a support" in Sanskrit.

One of the sitting positions (asana) mentioned in commentaries to Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, the cornerstone literature for yoga practice.

This position gets its name from a wooden support that the sitter uses to stay upright, which is commonly shown as a crutch-shaped prop beneath the chin.
