Sitamarhi is a city in the northern portion of Bihar, around
10 miles from the Nepalese border.
It is located in the Panchala area, which is historically
regarded as King Janaka's dominion, and Sitamarhi is said to be the site of the
goddess Sita's discovery in a furrow of the soil when King Janaka was plowing.
