("immaculate
stance") One of the most common meditation sitting poses (asana).
In this posture, one foot (usually the left) is positioned
with the heel in the region between the anus and the genitals, while the other
foot (usually the right) is resting on the opposing leg with the heel straight
up.
This pose is known as the "perfected" posture not
only because of its difficulty (only those who have mastered yoga can achieve
it), but also because it is thought to provide significant spiritual
advantages.
