Shatrughna is a word that has a lot of different meanings
depending on who you ask.
(“Foe-slayer”) Shatrughna is the younger brother of Rama,
the protagonist of the Ramayana, the first of the two major Indian epics.
Whereas Rama's brothers Lakshmana and Bharata play crucial
parts in the epic—the former as Rama's henchman and shadow, and the latter as
Rama's regent during his exile—Shatrughna goes almost unnoticed and has little
bearing on the wider epic story.
