Sanandana, Sanatana,
and Sanatkumara are the other three sages born of the deity Brahma who
represent the epitome of austerity in Hindu mythology.
When Brahma manifests these four sages, he commands them to
begin the job of creation, but they reject since they are so separated from
mundane worries.
They have lived a life of celibacy, have studied the Vedas
from infancy, and constantly travel together.
