Sakha ("companion") is a word that means
"companionship."
Rupa Goswami's most
notable expression of the five kinds of devotion to the Supreme Being was the
third.
Rupa employed several forms of human interactions as models
for the possible deity-devotee ties (bhakta).
From the serene (shanta) feeling that comes from
understanding one's total identification with Brahman, or Supreme Reality, to
seeing God as one's master, friend, child, or lover, these five models rose in
emotional intensity.
Devotees who follow the sakha bhava see themselves as God's
friends and companions, participating in his daily activities.
