Sakata Chauth is a
Hindu festival celebrated in Sakata, India.
The festival is held on the fourth day (chauth) of the dark
(waning) half of the lunar month of Magh (January–February), which marks
Ganesh's birthday.
Those who participate in this celebration are said to get
Ganesh's blessings, which include knowledge, freedom from difficulties, and
wealth.
Ganesh considers the fourth day of the lunar fortnight to be
holy, and his devotees may take vows on this day (bhakta).
Ganesh Chaturthi, which comes on the fourth day of the
bright (waxing) half of the lunar month Bhadrapada (August–September), is the
most important Ganesh festival of the year.
