Two prominent Hindu gurus had the same name, which has since
been differentiated by the inclusion of additional names.
Shirdi Sai Baba (d. 1918) is the older of the two.
He was called for the place in Maharashtra where he spent
most of his life.
The latter, Sathya ("genuine") Sai Baba (b. 1926),
is a contemporary Hindu religious person regarded as a godman who claims to be
Shirdi Sai Baba's reincarcation.
