Sadharana ("common") is a Sanskrit word that means
"common." Dharma.#
The religious
obligations imposed on all human beings in the dharma literature, such as
honesty, charity, and compassion.
The most important commitment, however, is to follow one's
own dharma (svadharma), which may override or even contradict the common dhar
ma's obligations.
For example, it is widely believed that in order to be a successful
ruler, a monarch must periodically neglect truth.
Because a king's principal responsibility is to preserve
peace and order in the kingdom so that others may perform their tasks, he must
go to any length to achieve this.
