Rishabha is said to be the founder of the Jains, according
to Jain tradition.
He is considered the first of the Jain tirthankaras, the
religious tradition's foundational figures.
In the Yajur Veda, one of the oldest Hindu religious books,
he is identified as one of three Jain tirthankaras.
Mahavira, who is regarded the twenty-fourth tirthankara, is
the man most commonly attributed with formulating the Jains' current doctrines.
