A renunciant ascetic
society made up of followers (bhakta) of the deity Vishnu—as the god Rama—whose
practice emphasizes Rama's love (sneha).
The Ramsnehis are divided into three primary centers, all of
which are situated in Rajasthan.
These institutions are remarkable in that each honors just
its own founder, and none of the three honors any of the founders or
preceptors.
The Jains have had an influence on Ramsnehi religious
practice, which concentrates on the chanting of Rama's name.
The Ramsnehis deliberately accept various limits as a result
of this latter impact in order to prevent killing life.
