Radhavallabh
Sampraday is a day dedicated to Radhavallabh.
Vaishnavas are a religious society founded by the
sixteenth-century poet-saint Harivamsh.
Its members are followers (bhakta) of the deity Vishnu (that
is, Vaishnavas).
Harivamsh had strong feelings about Radha's standing, which
his community has maintained.
Earlier poetry often depicted Radha as the god Krishna's
adulterous mistress, but the Radhavallabhans saw her as his legitimate wife and
a goddess with equal rank to Krishna.
Krishna and his reputation as the "beloved of
Radha" were the center of their devotion (Radhavallabh).
