Puttaparthi is located about 95 miles north of Bangalore, in Andhra Pradesh, close the border with Karnataka.
Puttaparthi is well known for being the birthplace and
childhood home of contemporary Hindu guru Sathya Sai Baba, as well as the
location of his most significant religious habitation (ashram) and principal
house.
