("throwing oneself on the ground") Prapatti is the entire submission of a devotee (bhakta) to God's omnipotence as the sole path of redemption.
This mentality is especially prevalent among the
Shrivaishnavas, a religious sect in southern India that worships the deity
Vishnu and was founded by the great philosopher Ramanuja (11th c.).
Despite the fact that prapatti practitioners believe that
ultimate power is placed in God's favor, believers are concerned about
maintaining religious practice.
As a result, prapatti is not intended to take the place of
traditional religious practices such as worship.
These actions continue to be carried out, but with the
understanding that God's grace will be sufficient.
As a result, they are not considered as a method of
salvation, but rather as reflections of the grace that has already been
received.
