Prajnanam Brahman is a Sanskrit word that means “Brahman wisdom".
One of the "great utterances" (mahavakyas)
conveying the ultimate truth in Hindu philosophical tradition.
The unity of prajnanam (ultimate wisdom) and Brahman
(Supreme Reality) is the truth here; this identity is at the core of the
Upanishads' speculative teachings.
The four mahavakyas were adopted as distinguishing emblems
by the four divisions of the Dashanami Sanyasi ascetics, in addition to their
philosophical significance as embodying funda mental truths.
Each division had its own mahavakya, as well as its own
Veda, principal monastic center, and archetypal ascetic trait.
The mahavakya linked with the Bhogawara division of the
Dashanami Sanyasis is Prajnanam Brahman.
