Pandrenthan is a
historical site in Kashmir, located south of the city of Shrinagar.
Pandrenthan is known for one of Kashmir's few remaining
historic Hindu temples, a temple devoted to the deity Shiva that was
established in the twelfth century C.E.
The shrine itself is tiny and straightforward.
The temple has a square floor design, with each side
measuring 17.5 feet long and an entrance on each side, giving it an open
atmosphere.
A gable projects out from each doorway, protruding from a
pyramidal roof known to builders as a hip roof.
The temple is completely made of stone, although it has
overlapping courses to resemble wooden construction.
