Hinduism - Who Are The Maithila Brahmins?

Pancha Gauda is a group of northern Indian brahmins who make up one of five northern brahmin communities: Kanaujia, Gauda, Utkala, and Saraswat.

Maithila brah mins are a minor ethnic group located solely in the Mithila area of modern-day Bihar.

Despite their small size, Maithila brahmins are noted for their dedication to scholarship and culture, as shown by their most famous member, poet Vidyapati.
