Hinduism - What Is The ISKON Mahamantra?


The recitation of a thirty-two-syllable mantra, or holy phrase, is the fundamental devotional act for followers (bhakta) of ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness), often known as the Hare Krishnas.

"Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare; Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare," says the chant.
