Hinduism - Who Is Magha?

(7th c.) Magha was a Sanskrit playwright whose best-known work, Shishupala vadha, depicts Shishupala's death at the hands of the deity Krishna.

Shishupala is a form of Jaya, Vishnu's gatekeeper, who has been cursed three times to be born as a demon and destroyed by Vishnu each time.

The curse is broken with Shishupala's birth, which is the final of these births.

Apart from its legendary premise, the play is notable for a lot of unusual lyrics intended to demonstrate the poet's ability.

Poems that are perfect palindromes and verses with just one or two consonants fall into this category.
