In Hindu mythology, Pradyumna is the son of Krishna and his
celestial wife Rukmini.
Pradyumna is the reincarnation of the deity Kama, who was
annihilated by the god Shiva's third eye's fire.
Shiva assures Kama's wife Rati that her husband would be
resurrected as Pradyumna to defeat the demon Sambhara after Kama's death.
Sambhara is fully aware of the danger due to his magical
abilities, and when he discovers the infant, he tosses it into the water,
believing he has killed it.
Pradyumna is eaten by a large fish, which is captured and
sent to King Sambhara; when the fish is split open, the kid enchants
Pradyumna's wife Mayavati, who has adopted the appearance of Rati to assist her
husband.
In a fierce struggle, Pradyumna kills Sambhara and reunites
with Rati.
