Kamalakanta (d. 1820) was a Bengali poet, goddess Kali's
follower (bhakta), and instructor and practitioner of tantra, a hidden,
ritual-based religious practice.
The guru and erudite counsellor (pundit) of the monarch of
Burdwan, a province northwest of modern-day Calcutta, whose capital is also
called Burdwan, Kamalakanta spent the majority of his life.
