Lalitaditya (8th century) One of the few rulers of Kashmir
who was able to influence the politics of the northern Indian plain, owing to
the fragmented nature of Hindu kingdoms in the area.
Lalitaditya's soldiers successfully marched into the Ganges
River valley, preventing the Arab advance in the Punjab area.
His successors were unable to keep the gains he had made.
