(“phlegm”) One of the
three body humours (tridosha) in ayurveda, the ancient Indian medical system,
together with vata ("air") and pitta ("bile").
Every individual has all three humours, but one is generally
dominant; this distinguishes a person in certain ways, particularly in terms of
health, digestion, and metabolism.
Because phlegm includes both liquid and solid properties,
Kapha is connected with the elements of earth and water.
It gives you both sturdiness and fluidity.
Those who have this sense of humor are regarded to be
robust, healthy, and capable.
At the same time, this rigidity may manifest as inertia and
exhaustion, which "phlegmatic" persons must strive to avoid.
