Dhrshtadyumna is the son of King Drupada and the brother of Draupadi, King Drupada's daughter, in the Mahabharata, the later of the two major Hindu epics.
Dhrshtadyumna and Draupadi are magically created as they emerge from a sacrifice fire.
After being humiliated by Drupada, their father funds this ceremony of sacrifice in order to give birth to a hero who would fight Drona, who has usurped half of Drupada's realm.
Drona takes the young man as a student and begins teaching him martial skills.
Despite the fact that a heavenly voice has predicted that the kid would murder him, he does so with the conviction that destiny cannot be stopped.
Draupadi's marriage to the five Pandava brothers, the epic's protagonists, is arranged by Dhrshtadyumna, and he fights on their side throughout the Mahabharata battle.
Dhrshtadyumna battles valiantly throughout the battlefield and finally avenges his father's loss by chopping off Drona's head.
His victory, however, is short-lived, as Dhrshtadyumna is slain the next night by Drona's son Ashvatthama, who sneaks into the Pandava camp and kicks Dhrshtadyumna to death.
