Hinduism - What Is The Sacred Syllable Om?

A holy and divine sound, Om which is universally represented, worshipped and symbolized as the letter Om.

It should be said before and after reading the Vedas (the earliest Hindu religious books), making any prayer, or performing any holy ceremony, according to Hindu tradition.

It is said to eliminate impediments when spoken at the start of a ritual, and it is said to be a finishing affirmation when said at the conclusion.

The sound Om is considered as the core of all sacred discourse due to its widespread ceremonial usage.

The sound's phonetic constituents (A, U, and M) were regarded as referring to different states of awareness as early as the Mandukya Upanishad, ultimately signifying the Self (atman).

In addition, there are four different states of awareness to consider.
