Bhil is the name of a tribal (adivasi) tribe found in large numbers in the Vindhya Mountains in Madhya Pradesh's eastern region.
They have long been linked with the forest, especially with hunting and honey collecting.
- Their territory, like that of many tribal tribes, is frequently on marginal areas, and the majority of them are impoverished.
