Hinduism - What Is The Atharva Veda?

The Atharva Veda is a Hindu scripture, the final of the four Vedas, which are Hindu holy scriptures that are the oldest and most authoritative.

  • The Atharva Veda is the most unique in many respects.
  • The Atharva Veda is essentially a collection of spells and incantations that may be employed to
    • reverse or rectify misfortune,
    • as well as to bring about one's desired outcome,
  • While the other three Vedas—Rg Veda, Sama Veda, and Yajur Veda—focus primarily on sacrifice rites.
  • Its unique contents set it apart from the other three Vedas, and because only the first three Vedas are mentioned in early texts, it seems to have acquired legitimacy as a Veda later.
