Empaths usually lack everything in their lives, such as attention, passion, a sense of belonging, and/or affection; as a result, they wish for others to have what they lack in the hopes of receiving it in exchange. Even the most stressed and exhausted empaths would go to some length to support others.
According to Dr. Judith Orloff (2017), there are five experimental explanations that provide further insight into empathy:
- The system of mirror neurons
- Fields of electromagnetic energy
- Contagion of emotions
- Dopamine sensitivity has increased.
- Synesthesia.
The mirror neuron structure is a system in which neurons mirror each other. There are cells in the brain that are specifically responsible for kindness, according to research. Empaths can mimic the thoughts and thoughts of others thanks to mirror neurons. Empaths, for example, would feel depressed if anyone is sad. Narcissists, sociopaths, and psychopaths, on the other hand, are said to be empathy-deficient. They essentially lack the ability to empathize with others. Since their mirror neuron system is underactive, these people are like this. A cause for mirror neurons is usually a thing that happens to someone else. If we are unhappy, hurt, or joyful, those who lack mirror neurons will not feel any feelings for us.
Electromagnetic fields are a kind of electromagnetic field. Another scientific discovery is that the heart and brain generate electric fields like the rest of the body. People's desires and ideas are transmitted through the grounds. Empaths can be vulnerable to this information, and it can make them feel confused and nervous. Emotional reactions are often influenced by the sun and the earth.
Emotional contagion is a term used to describe the spread of emotions from one person to We need to pay attention to the people we hang around with when we can sense someone else's thoughts and feelings around us. Spending time with people who drain your productive energies is not a good idea. It is incredibly easy for an empath to act like others do. When someone catches another person's yawn, for example, it is said that they have empathy. This is referred to as an emotional contagion. When one person yawns, it causes several people to yawn as well. Most people have a feeling of contagion, such that when a baby in the nursery cries, the other babies in the nursery cries as well. When it comes to relationships and knowing how the other is doing at any given moment, the capacity to catch other people's moods is crucial. Empaths should associate themselves with people who uplift them instead of people who bring them down.
Dopamine sensitivity has increased. Dopamine is the chemical that makes people to feel happy. Introverted empaths need less dopamine to be comfortable, which is why they want to be alone. Introverts tend to have higher levels of dopamine sensitivity, whereas extroverts need higher levels to feel comfortable. Extroverts enjoy the excitement and dopamine rush that comes with going to parties.
Synesthesia is the ability to see something in certain ways. Synesthesia is a condition in which people see colors when listening to music. This is a nervous disorder that occurs when two senses in the brain are coupled together. This is also known as mirror-touch synesthesia, in which people can sense their own feelings in their bodies.
Empathy would help us get through a lot of problems and encourage us to value people even though we don't agree with them. It's nice to have an open heart, but be wary of anyone who may want to exploit you.
